Silence of the Shard.

The Gerber Shard is a great tool, it's simple design and cheap price make it just what I needed to get in pockets. Sorry Atwood, your tools look sweet, but I will not pay that much for a glorified bottle opener. So I bought the Shard, then I discovered what would keep this tool out of my pockets forever, it rings like a tuning fork! I mean it's loud, it drove me batty everytime I tried to carry the tool. Over the last three or so years, the poor Shard has moved from drawer to drawer and been forgotten in various "junk boxes". Evry few monthes I would dig it out and see if some form of cordage wrap could silence the bugger, but alas the Shard was still too loud to carry. Everything changed this morning,  sometimes I get too carried away with decorative knots and over thinking the situation, and then I have a moment of clarity,  the clouds part and the angels sing, and I say "a rubber grommet, that's gonna work". So here it is, check the photos below to see how it looks. For a few cents this is the best fix that I have found, it still makes a little noise but it no longer "rings".
